The Hotel Lautersee and "Lautersee Stub’n" is a family business with a long tradition –a place where you can simply feel at home.

For three generations, the well being of our guests has been the highest priority for us.. In 1931 my grandparents Katharina and Josef Kemser bought a restaurant with seven guestrooms  idyllically situated directly on the Lautersee between the Karwendel and Wetternstein mountainranges. When it was announced that the Winter Olympics would  be held at Garmisch-Partenkirchen, a plan was made to establish a "Sporthotel Seeheim" directly on the Lautersee. In 1936 the house  with its 21 guestrooms, was ready in time for the great sporting event.

In the 50´s my mother , Johanna Kemser, guided the fate of the house. To this day the "Rote Grütze Johanna" is on the menu. Later an extension was necessary in order to accommodate the  kitchen and a comfortable restaurant. In 1961 a wing was added which blended in wonderfully with the main building in its modern interpretation of the alpine style. This also reflects our philosophy: maintaining our tradition while gently integrating the modern.

After my training as a hotel specialist I took over the business from my mother in 1980. The Hotel Lautersee and Lautersee Stub’n have since developed with some small changes. I have dedicated myself and my team to the well-being of our guests.
